Veteran's Day

Ok, so Tomorrow is Veteran's Day. I was privelaged this week to have lunch with the president of Kirkwood as a member of a Veteran's Group. The lunch was really informal, yet informative. The administration at the school has no problem listening to concerns and addressing them.

Thank you Veterans for your service.

Happy Halloween

Ok, so I do not know what KCC had special to help celebrate Halloween, although I think that they did do an event. KCC Student Life is very good about ensuring that any holiday, whether secular, religious, or federally recognized is celebrated in one way or another.

KCC takes care of their students, which makes me proud to be a KCC Eagle.

Priority Registration

Priority registration is opening in early November for the 2011 Spring Semester. While I like the option to register early, I feel that this is too soon. I am a father of a five year old, expecting another in the spring, Full Time Student, and work Full Time.

How am I going to know what my schedule in January will look like in early November? But if I wait to register then I risk the chance of not getting the classes I need.

What to do, What to do????

Kirkwood tackles Breast Cancer Awareness

So, it is October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. KCC did a lot to help promote Breast Cancer Awareness, which makes me as a student proud.

One major event KCC did was to attempt to break a world record for the number of individuals blowing bubble gum bubbles at the same time. My understanding from a local news report is that 250 people were needed, and KCC had turnout of 300 plus. Whether the record was broken or not I am not sure, but what an awesome idea.

I will finish this post with the KCC Breast Cancer Awareness 2010 slogan "Dig Pink"
